The Lahore High Court has granted medical bail in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
A two-member bench headed by High Court Justice Ali Baqir Najafi heard the petition of Nawaz Sharif on Friday.
Dr Mahmood Ayaz, head of Nawaz Sharif's medical board, appeared in the court and said that the condition of the former prime minister was serious and he had serious life-threatening illnesses.

During the hearing, NAB's lawyer took the stand that Nawaz Sharif was on physical remand.
Nawaz Sharif's lawyer requested the court that his client be released on bail for medical treatment. NAB's lawyer did not oppose bail plea.
Dr Mahmood further told the court that Nawaz Sharif had complained of angina pain last night. After that, Dr. Shafi has been added to the medical board which is treating him.
Justice Ali Baqir Najafi asked what Nawaz Sharif said about the treatment. To which Dr. Mahmud said some tests are necessary, but because of low platelets, he cannot.
After hearing the arguments, the court granted medical bail in Nawaz Sharif's Chaudhry Sugar Mills case.
Despite the grant of bail from the Lahore High Court, Nawaz Sharif could not be released from jail until his decision in the Islamabad High Court against the sentence in the Al-Azizia Steel Mills case was reached.
A two-member bench of the Islamabad High Court will hear the petition on Tuesday seeking the release of Nawaz Sharif.
Remember that Nawaz Sharif-ul-Azizia is serving a seven-year prison sentence sentenced to steel mills.
On the other hand, a two-member bench headed by Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani and Justice Aamir Farooq of Islamabad High Court heard the request for medical bail in Nawaz Sharif's Alizizia case. Additional Advocate General Punjab and a team of doctors also appeared in the court.
Medical Superintendent of Services Hospital Dr Saleem Shahzad was also present in the court at the hearing. He said that Nawaz Sharif's condition is a matter of concern. Platelets are becoming but then diminished. Nawaz Sharif is being given the best treatment facilities.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani questioned whether Nawaz Sharif's illness is dead? To which the MS Services Hospital replied that if left untreated, they could prove to be a deadly disease.
On the occasion, Nawaz Sharif's lawyer, Khwaja Haris, argued that Nawaz Sharif was also given 'stunts'. Whatever treatment they receive, permission is given in writing to the former Prime Minister.
After hearing the arguments, the court summoned Nawaz Sharif's detailed medical report.

Nawaz Sharif's daughter Maryam Nawaz was produced before the Accountability Court of Lahore. She was confused when talking to journalists about her father.

They said that their condition is bad because of Mian Sahib's condition.
Talking to reporters on Friday morning, Dr Tahir Sultan Shamsi, who was on the panel of Nawaz Sharif's physicians, said that Nawaz Sharif has been diagnosed with the disease and it is good news that he has no cancer.
Dr Tahir Shamsi said that Nawaz Sharif's disease is called 'ITP', which is usually applied to young children or older people with cancer. His bone marrow is fully functional and has no cancer.
It is to be remembered that Nawaz Sharif was shifted from Kot Lakhpat Jail to Services Hospital in Lahore on Tuesday for treatment. The government has called dermatologist Blood (haematologist) Professor Tahir Sultan Solar Lahore
According to Dr Tahir Shamsi, Nawaz Sharif is treatable for which the patient is given one of the steroid or 'IGIV' injections.
Dr Tahir Shamsi further said that the patient's platelets begin to recover within four to five days of receiving the medication. About 10 to 12 days after receipt of IVIG, approximately platelet cells become normal.
He said that Nawaz Sharif would have to use medicines from six months to a year to keep the platelets within a satisfactory range.
It should be remembered that a six-member medical board has been set up for the former prime minister's medical examination, headed by Pym's Principal Professor Mahmoud Ayaz. Other members of the board include Dr Kamran Khalid, Dr Arif Nadeem, Dr Faiza Bashir, Dr Khadija Irfan and Dr Sobia Qazi.
The medical board established to treat Nawaz Sharif re-examined him on Thursday. Upon receiving a CBC report, the board decided not to transfer them to the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI) for further diagnosis of cell mutilation.
