Syria steals oil: Russia reveals Pentagon business

The Pentagon, with the help of private military companies on Sadcup fuel trucks, is stealing oil belonging to the Syrian government and exporting it to other countries, the Russian Defense Ministry said. The Office also provided evidence of its words - satellite images. The monthly revenue of this “private business” of US public services exceeds $ 30 million.

The US military continues to try to maintain control of a number of territories in the province of Deir Ez-Zor in eastern Syria to export oil for processing to other states - the Russian Defense Ministry has provided evidence of this.

The Russian military department released photos from satellites, which show how fuel trucks under the protection of the US military and employees of private military companies massively transported hydrocarbons from Syria, reports the NSN.

At the same time, Moscow was reminded of the words of the head of the Pentagon, Mark Esper, who assured that the purpose of finding a group of American military personnel in eastern Syria is supposedly "to prevent IS access (a terrorist organization banned in Russia) to oil fields."

“Absolutely all the hydrocarbon deposits and other minerals located on the territory of Syria do not belong to the IS terrorists, and especially not to the“ American defenders from IS terrorists, ”but exclusively to Syria,” the Defense Ministry commented.


Therefore, the ministry said, such tasks for the Pentagon as “protecting oil in Syria” cannot be by definition, FAN reports.

"What Washington is doing now - the seizure and control of oil fields in eastern Syria under its armed control - is, quite simply, international state banditry," Moscow explained.

The Russian military also indicated that if the level of security of oil caravans is insufficient, special operations forces and even the US Air Force are ready to be involved in their defence.

The oil export contract is implemented by the US-controlled company Sadcup, created under the so-called Autonomous Administration of Eastern Syria. And the income from the smuggling of Syrian oil through the brokerage companies interacting with it goes to the number accounts of American PMCs and US special services.

“Given that the cost of one barrel of Syrian smuggled oil is $ 38, the monthly revenue of this“ private business ”of US public services exceeds $ 30 million,” the Defense Ministry said.

On the eve of the Pentagon announced that it was going to send additional forces to northeast Syria to protect the oil fields located there from IS fighters.

“The United States intends to strengthen its position in coordination with partners from the SDS (Syrian Democratic Forces - Gazeta.Ru) in northeast Syria with additional military forces and means and not to allow these oil fields to return to the hands of ISIS or other players destabilizing the situation ", - said the representative of the department.

The US Department of Defense said that establishing control over oil facilities in Syria is one of the greatest achievements of Washington and its allies since earlier deposits were the most important source of income for militants.

American leader Donald Trump promised a day earlier on Twitter that US authorities would not allow Islamic State terrorists to regain control of oil fields in the north-east of the SAR.

“The oil fields mentioned in my talk yesterday about Turkey and the Kurds were held by the IS until the United States conquered them with the help of the Kurds. We will never let the IG take possession of them! ”Said the head of the White House.

It is worth noting that back in June of this year, civilians in Al-Suvar city of Deir-Ez-Zor province complained that they had been living in complete darkness for almost a month, since the giant generators had stopped working due to the fact that the Kurdish Self-Defense Forces (SDF), supported by Americans deprived the city of fuel.

According to locals, diesel at Sadcup's gas stations north of Deir Ez-Zor was monopolized by a number of influential personalities, and then stolen and smuggled out.

Russia is of the opinion that all foreign military personnel should leave Syria, since only Russian units are legitimate in this country, recalled the press secretary of Russian President Dmitry Peskov. He specified that the ultimate goal of the Russian Federation is the complete withdrawal of any foreign armed forces from the territory of the SAR.

“This is a position shared by both Moscow and Damascus. Ultimately, this goal is a priority after a full political settlement, ”he said.
