Huawei today introduced not only the flagship tablet MatePad Pro, but also its first smart speaker Sound X.

As you can see in the images, Sound X resembles the Apple HomePod. There is about the same shape of the case and the LED ring on top. The price is similar: for its new product, Huawei asks for $ 285, and a set of two will be sold for $ 553.

Let's move on to the parameters. The speaker is designed to have a 360-degree sound, that is, it does not matter how to position it. Inside is a double subwoofer with a power of 60 watts and eight one and a half-inch emitters with a power of 8 watts each. Huawei focuses on the fact that the frequency range of the speaker starts at 40 Hz. In addition, this is supposedly the first smart speaker with a Hi-Res certificate. It is also worth noting that Devialet worked on the column with Huawei.

The dimensions of the column are 165 x 203 mm with a weight of 3.5 kg. There is no choice of colour options - only black. Huawei will start accepting pre-orders tomorrow, and the column will go on sale on December 5.

  3. After all, in a small house, it would make no sense to invest in an outdoor dcm loudspeakers system with a signal range of 400 feet. Neither would it be prudent for an occasional user to invest in a $1000 system meant for the true audiophiles.

  4. It is a marketing gimmick. You should always read the disclaimer and asterisk points to know how capable these speakers are in handling constant contact with water. https://speakerhunt.com/
